We are saddened to learn of the passing of Eddie O’Hara, Chairman of the British Committee for the Restitution of the Parthenon Marbles.
We extend our condolences to his family, to the members of the BCRPM, and to all whose lives he touched and are grieved by his passing.
Eddie was a great friend who worked for years in the cause of restitution.
His intellect and his balanced approach to the campaign for restitution will be missed.
We will remember him and feel his absence when we gather for Colloquy 2016 on 7 June, in London.

The Echo, carries further details
I am sorry to hear that we have lost Eddie O’Hara. I send my condolences to his family and his friends. As for the British Committee for the Return of the Parthenon Marbles, I hope you all can carry on with Eddie’s spirit and conviction that the Parthenon Marbles do only know one language and that is Ancient Greek. Let our shared passions be united with his legacy so we can work together for the return, which he unfortunately will not see. May he be remembered for his life’s hard work for the Marbles to be returned to Greece.
